We round up our week of installations and workshops with a demonstration of the felting foot which fits on the Handi Quilter machines (except the Infinity). Felting is definitely fun and there aren't any rules!

Our workshops this week were very popular - the Landscape Workshop with Carolyn James sold out the day it was launched! The 15 customers who attended produced some fabulous landscape quilts and learnt new techniques for couching, free motion quilting, layering techniques and thread work including putting two or three threads through one needle. We are planning a painting and another landscape workshop in July 2024.

We also had two Foundation Workshops. A good grounding and understanding of tension on a longarm is a great investment in time. There is no substitute for really understanding how the stitch forms and how to adjust the tension for different types of thread. The confidence you gain from a workshop gives you a good base from which to extend your creativity to your own quilts. It's great to meet others who are also at the same point in their longarm journey.

Finally, we showed how to get a bit of Christmas Glisten onto your quilts. Using the right size of needle, threading through one of the pre-tensioners and adjusting the tension based on test stitching and that's it! Playtime with metallic thread.
