The Color Purple [1985] Reaction | FIRST TIME WATCHING

Hey YTubers,

This one was a doozey, and it's just a lot of me being sad and trying very hard to hold in the tears.

Not to take anything away from the film, because it was still heavy but I did find it quite tame compared to other movies that I have seen with similar themes, but I suspect that is because of the PG rating.

I think a lot of credit must also be given to the actresses who played young Celie and young Nettie, they both shone brightly through this film.

I know that my mother had spoken about either the book or the movie in the past but I can't remember if she loved it or hated it...

Please tell me what your thoughts were when you watched this film for the first time.
