RovyVon SL41 Transcript:

General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
• It's always a pleasure when I get to review a light from RovyVon - there's always something exciting and unique about each one - a rare feeling for me as I review so many lights! This one here, the SL41 is part of their new SL or safety light series that crams in a load of different features and LEDs all in one rectangular package. It has UV LEDs, white LEDs, and secondary red and white flood light LEDs. It's basically an all-in-one EDC flashlight and signal light.
• What's included? Belt-clip, USB-C charging cable, spare gasket replacement, carry case.
• Comparison with some other signal lights/all-in-one lights. It's a lot larger than those smaller keychain-style signal lights that I've reviewed in the past.

Overall Construction, LED, lens, bezel and reflector
• The external parts of the light are constructed from polycarbonate with some rubberized areas where the buttons are. Surprisingly, this light weighs 120 grams - I think there is some kind of internal heatsink + the 2500mAh battery that would explain the extra weight. There are transparent windows around the edges of the light to allow light to pass through.
• Strong magnet at the back of the light. You can also attach a belt clip by following the markings on the back of the light.
• 2500mAh lithium polymer cell + USB-C Charging. Impressive battery capacity for a light of this size.
• 2x 365nm UV LEDs - they look like SST-10 LEDs. Produce a heap of UV light - probably the most out of all my dedicated UV lights. No visible light filter. Primary LEDs - 2x SST-20 6500K capable of 1000 lumens. On the sides, there are some SMD LEDS - 8x white LEDs and 8x red LEDs. Each group of LEDs are operated by separate buttons on the front 'panel'. RovyVon are also releasing other variants including the SL42, 43, 44, 45, and 46 which have various combinations of LEDs depending on your needs - for example, the 45-46 come with 850nm IR LEDs.

UI - modes
• Press and hold the front side light button (red) for 5 seconds to lock/unlock.
• Each other button will activate each mode, press the button again to toggle sub-modes.

Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
• Ceiling bounce test, CRI, CCT
• The SST20s are bright in this little enclosure and throw further than expected. Step down is reasonable too - 600 lumens. The same goes for the UV LEDs. The side LEDs function more as a close proximity flood light and signal light.

Considerations
• Wish the UV button was off to the side away from the other buttons. Make sure you face the light away from you when activating just in case you press the wrong button. The UV LEDs are very powerful.
• Non-replaceable battery - but it's a 2500mAh battery that will withstand wear for longer.
• Cost - this is priced more than other signal lights out there, but in my opinion, it's more of an all-rounder.

Verdict
• This is one of the most unique all-in-one flashlights I've seen out there. I know it's marketed as a safety/signal light, but the SL41 is a great stand-alone EDC flashlight - the 1000 lumen output is more than enough for most purposes. The floody side lights are also great for closer-up use as a walking or reading light. The UV lights really blew me away with how much light it produced - probably because I only have single LED UV lights. If you're looking for a no-hassle, easy-to-use, do-it-all all flashlight check out the SL41!
