PA Deer Camp 2024

As soon as the summer ends it seems like Deer camp is just around the corner even though it is months away. Happened again this year, all of a sudden it is time to head up the cabin for PA Deer Camp 2024!
Join the Mike, aka, The Chairman, Shawn @Sixnta77, and myself Tom, @whiterook85 for some good times and good food at the cabin in Tioga County PA.
The day after Thanksgiving, or Black Friday is the day we head up the PA Turnpike to camp with the Jeep loaded to the max.

Just a FYI: This is a Deer Camp video, what it is like to spend time in a Deer Camp. It is not a hunting video, though we do go out and hunt, it's what it's like to be in a Camp, the friends and family, the memories. I added Sheriff Jim from Blair County, he really hits home on what it's like.

Was there for only 6 days this year if you count the travel days, a lot less than in the past, but good to be there with Shawn this year.
This year just Mike, Shawn and I were there for Opening weekend, but unfortunately the Chairman (Mike) had to head back on Sunday evening. Shawn and I hung in there until Wednesday morning. Steve and Eric are on the mend from some surgeries and couldn't make it this time.

Good food abounded as always, Pizza (Tony's Tomato Pie), cheese-steak Stromboli and wings was on the menu for Friday night. Saturday night was prime rib-eye time, I supersized the guys by adding lobster tails to the menu. They had no idea they were coming. Sunday evening was chicken cacciatore that Shawn made. Sunday was a comfort food evening of pasta and meatballs.
Good Old Fashions flowed this year, as well as some good beer.

As always, something that seems like it will never get here, then before you know it it's unfortunately it's over.

I guess I talked about everything except the bucks, well they were around before and after the season. Unfortunately they didn't show the time when we were there. But, they are getting better and bigger than in the past, so it's only a matter of time. We spent a lot of time in the woods this year and just couldn't get a little luck on our side.

A true Deer Camp is about; having a great time with friends and family, building memories, and that keeps you coming back year after year. If a buck happens (and one of these years!!) that great also.
Laughing and ball busting seem to reign supreme as always, one of the best things about Camp life.
