The 1/72nd scale model of the SR-75 spans 41,3 cm and has a length of 68 cm. The XR-7 spans 18,3 cm with a length of 34 cm.

These aircraft are part of a new [system] of manned aircraft built to replace the aging SR-71 Mach 3 airplane. The SR-75 is a large airplane. It spans 29,7m and has a length of 49m. Powered by 4 huge high by-pass
turbojets it itself capable of speeds exceeding Mach 3 and can fly reconnaissance missions as a direct replacement for the SR-71 on its own. However, the SR-75’s primary mission is that of a [mothership] to air-launch’ the hypersonic XR-7 Thunder Dart from its back. The XR-7 Thunder Dart is a hypersonic reconnaissance vehicle capable of speeds far exceeding Mach 7. It is powered by 2 after burning turbojet engines plus 2 Pulse Detonation Wave Engines [PDWEs]. The PDWEs, though small and lightweight, are capable of producing over 25,000 kp of thrust each. Launched from the SR-75 at altitudes exceeding 27,500m and at speeds over Mach 3, the XR-7 accelerates and then cruises on its PDWEs while the turbojets are shutdown and their inlets closed and faired. The XR-7 and the SR-75 are both capable of carrying the standard arrays of photographic and electronic reconnaissance gear plus very secret remote sensing equipment to [see] the nucleate storage sites of the many nations in today’s world who might become nuclear threats to the United States and her allies.
