Vedvyas temple is situated in the steel city of Odisha State i.e. Rourkela . The place is well connected via all means of transport . Rourkela railway station is situated at a distance of 15 km .
Vedvyas is an old Shiva Temple nested in the outskirts of Rourkela which has a Shiv lingam, said to be built of a precious and expensive black stone . It is said to be the place where Mahabharat was dictated by Vedvyas and was written by Lord Ganesh . This place is also known as the birth place of Vyas muni Vedvyas . The temple is situated near the confluence of three river Shank, Koel and Saraswati to form river Brahmani . There is a group of hills around the river Brahmani such as Mahavir hill which is nearest to the river and to the east the parasara hill are present .
Vedvyas Temple is thronged by the devotees during the Hindu festival of Shivaratri and the festivities continue for two weeks with lots of fun and fanfare . The scale of Festival is so huge that lakhs of visitors and devotees comes there to seek the lord's blessings . This place is also known as Vedvyas Dham . The best time to visit the temple is during the shivaratri festival . Thank You .
