High Performance Cold Bonding Solution for Deck Reinforcement

With time, this will reduce the load bearing of the deck and the typical consequence would be to limit the access to the corroded deck, reducing the available work area.

In this video, we demonstrate the high performance deck plate bonding technology from Belzona. The two-part composite repair epoxy paste, Belzona 1121 was applied to bond a metal plate to the deck without the need for welding. The epoxy coating Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade) was then applied by injection using an airless pump to provide longstanding corrosion protection and ensure seamless adhesion between the deck and the plate, with no air entrapment.

Where possible Oil and Gas companies choose to avoid hot work to ensure the risks are minimised and opt for cold curing technologies, where they require a proven solution that will eliminate the problem for the long term.
