The Trust For Public Land

Описание к видео The Trust For Public Land

The Trust for Public Land works to protect the places people care about and to create close-to-home parks, particularly in and near cities, where 80 percent of Americans live. Their goal is to ensure that every child has easy access to a safe place to play in nature. Today, nearly 10 million Americans live within a 10-minute walk of a park or natural area protected by The Trust for Public Land. In Denver's Five Points neighborhood, Mestizo-Curtis Park serves a diverse community. However, challenges common to urban settings have created a sense of unease about this park and kids play in tiny yards while the park sits empty our investment helps to make the change in this neighborhood. Trust for Public Land is a long standing partner in much of the built environment work that Kaiser Permanente does. Kaiser Permanente has funded them in some capacity since 2009 including a study of the economic benefits of Denver’s parks and the evaluation of the New Freedom park renovation. The latest opportunity in Mestizo-Curtis park aligns with Kaiser Permanente's investment in LiveWell Colorado, and investments in Mile High Connects because this park is situated within walking distance to a transit oriented development site going online in 2016.
