Dairy REMOVES the calcium from our bones!

Notice people with arthritis and osteoporosis have been having milk all their lives, yet their bones are thinning! That’s because our body is alkaline and milk is acid. The moment we add acid into our body, it leaches calcium from the bones to get back to its state of alkalinity

Plant based milks are delicious and by adding sesame seeds we increase the intake of calcium too! You don’t need to have sesame seeds too often as a lot of plant based foods are rich in calcium plus stopping acidic foods such as dairy, meat, tea, coffee, sugar, processed foods will keep your calcium intact.

Here goes the recipe -
Ingredients
2 tbsp sesame seeds – raw, organic, unpolished
6 – 8 almonds
6 – 8 dates, pitted
1 cardamom /⅛ tsp cinnamon /4 – 5 strands of saffron (for flavour)
¾ cup drinking water

Method
In a small blender, blend sesame seeds, almonds and the flavouring together, until it forms a powder. Then, add the dates and blend until you obtain a thick paste-like consistency. Add some water if required, to make it smoother. Add more water to obtain the consistency of a shake. Transfer to a tall glass and serve.

Serves 1

Note
Soaking the sesame seeds and almonds for 4-6 hours is also a good idea to prepare a creamier shake (drain the soaking water before blending).
