Paul Gascoigne was the hero for Rangers as they defeated Hearts 4-3 at Parkhead. Ally McCoist had put Rangers two goals up before Steve Fulton brought Hearts back into the match by scoring just before half-time. Hearts dominated at the start of the second half and John Robertson equalised but just minutes later Gascoigne scored the first of his two goals as he won the cup for Rangers. Davie Weir scored a late consolation goal.
