On Saturday morning, June 3rd, Long Beach Veterans Memorial Stadium filled with 383 1967 and earlier Buses – a record-breaking turnout!

OCTO is globally renowned as the largest group of 1967 and earlier Split Window Volkswagen Transporters. This organization strictly focuses on first-generation (commonly called T1) Buses, and was established in 1998 by two dedicated VW Bus enthusiasts, Erik Koplien and Charlie Hamill. Since its inception, OCTO has provided a unique and social space for Bus enthusiasts.

The group organizes three annual meets in February, June, and October. The June event is always the largest and has consistently been a significant part of the So Cal VW Week, formally known as Classic Weekend.

Every June, the OCTO Meet attracts huge crowds, but this year was even more special because it featured the "Barndoor Roundup", representing the oldest era (1950-55 models) – an event-within-the-event eagerly anticipated by many Type 2 enthusiasts. Several historically significant Barndoor Buses joined the gathering, but the highlight was undoubtedly the "Hornbecker 1952 Deluxe".
