unikitty (voiced by alison brie in the lego movie, the lego movie 2: the second part, the lego movie: 4d – a new adventure and lego dimensions, jessica dicicco in the lego movie videogame, tara strong in unikitty! and dfs promo) is a unicorn-horned cat and master builder who is the ruler of the secret sky location called cloud cuckoo land, where there are no rules or unhappy things. she is cute, positive, and optimistic, but also has a dark side when she gets angry.
she was first seen welcoming emmet, wyldstyle, vitruvius and batman to cloud cuckoo land and attends the meeting of the master builders. she was devastated when the super secret police destroyed cloud cuckoo land and is comforted by emmet.
there is also an animated spin-off series centered around the character, named unikitty!, produced for cartoon network. in this show, princess unikitty is the ruler of the unikingdom and has a little brother named prince puppycorn.
unikitty! (stylized as unikitty!) is an american animated television series developed by ed skudder and lynn wang for cartoon network and produced by the lego group and warner bros. animation. the series stars the character of the same name from the lego movie franchise.
the series was announced on may 10, 2017. at the 2017 san diego comic-con, it was confirmed by co-showrunner and co-executive producer ed skudder that the series would premiere on cartoon network on january 1, 2018. the second season of the series premiered on february 4, 2019, while the third and final season premiered on december 24, 2019.
the series ended on august 27, 2020, with the two-part series finale "the birthday to end all birthdays". by this point, warner bros. had terminated their film deal with lego, resulting in lego moving on to work with universal pictures. despite this, warner bros. still owns the rights to their run of the lego movie franchise. however, an episode titled "sick day", was left unaired in the united states due to being unintentionally similar to the covid-19 pandemic, but aired in other territories.
she makes a silent cameo appearance in the lego ninjago movie.
in the lego movie 2: the second part, unikitty is shown to be emmet and lucy's pet cat and is shown to grow to a full-sized version of herself called ultrakatty due to holding on to her rage from the duplo invasion. unikitty was captured along with lucy, batman, benny and metalbeard. she was one of batman's best men (despite the fact that she is female) at his and queen watevra wa'nabi's wedding.
nyan cat is a youtube video uploaded in april 2011, which became an internet meme. the video merged a japanese pop song with an animated cartoon cat with a pop-tart for a torso flying through space and leaving a rainbow trail behind. the video ranked at number five on the list of most viewed youtube videos in 2011.
the original version of the song "nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!" was uploaded by user "daniwell" to the japanese video site niconico on july 25, 2010. the song features the vocaloid virtual singer hatsune miku. the japanese word nya (にゃ) is onomatopoeic, imitating the call of a cat (equivalent to english "meow"). the song was later included in the rhythm game hatsune miku: project diva f, released by sega in august 2012.
on january 30, 2011, a user named "momomomo" uploaded a cover of "nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!" featuring the utau voice momone momo. the voice source used to create the momone momo voice was a japanese woman named momoko fujimoto.
