With this exclusive performance, Michael Martin Murphey celebrates a career spanning over 50 years, and is part of a series of the intimate Legacy concert Series in The Church Studio Live Room, performed to a small audience of about 100 people. The Neumann U67 microphone you see in the video was the same type of microphone that Michael first recorded Wildfire on.

Michael Martin Murphey is an American singer-songwriter born in 1945 in Dallas, Texas. Known for iconic hits like "Wildfire," "Carolina In The Pines," and "What’s Forever For," he’s a key figure in country, folk, and Western music. A pioneer of the 1970s “Cosmic Cowboy” movement, Murphey has released over 35 albums and is celebrated for preserving cowboy and Western heritage through music. His contributions to Western music have earned him multiple awards from the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, including five Wrangler Awards.His work has earned him numerous awards and recognition, including induction into the Texas Trail of Fame.

The Church Studio is a historic recording studio that was built in 1915 as Grace M.E. Church. It came to life in 1972 when Leon Russell, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Award-winning artist, purchased the old church and turned it into an analog recording studio and home office to Shelter Records. Teresa Knox, a Leon Russell fan and Tulsa native, purchased The Church Studio and has brought it back to life as a professional analog and digital recording studio, event center, audio engineering school, entertainment network, and home to The Church Studio Archive.
