DRIVING a classic 1940s pickup - on board the 1947 Dodge WC

Описание к видео DRIVING a classic 1940s pickup - on board the 1947 Dodge WC

Driving, 1940s-style, to a classic & sportscar meet in the 1947 Dodge WC pickup is the focus of this video.
The weather was looking decidedly classic-unfriendly but despite this, a mixture of cars old and young made the trip over to the pub in question, The Cholmondeley Arms, just across from Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire, which itself hosts a large classic car event regularly (see previous videos).
In this vid, we head out in the 1940s pickup, take a look at the classic cars that turned up, then follow up with more on-board footage of us driving the pickup down quiet country lanes, dodging the worst of the muddy puddles.
This Dodge pickup is from a series known as the "Job Rated" Dodges, first introduced in 1939. Production switched to military vehicles during the course of the US involvement in WW2, then returned to civilian truck production once hostilities had ended. 1947 was the final year for this shape of truck before the launch of an entirely new range for 1948. Our example spent most of its life in California.
