Back in 2007, LifeLock promised to protect people from identity theft for just $10 a month. To prove how strong the service was, Todd did something crazy — he published his own Social Security Number on billboards, TV, and newspapers, daring fraudsters to try.

But reality hit hard. Within a year, his identity was misused for over 13 frauds. The very service he built couldn’t even protect him! What followed was even worse — LifeLock was fined $12 million for false advertising, which later ballooned to $100 million because they refused to pay initially.

The lesson? Confidence sells… but overconfidence can destroy.
