《Dream to awakening》was written and composed by Jonathan Lee(李宗盛). The first half of the lyrics are about an infatuated person who says that she "loves someone she shouldn't love, and her heart is full of scars." After all the hardships of life, I couldn't find anyone I could trust" and "felt so depressed that I even began to doubt life". In the second half of the lyrics, the listener persuaded her to "know that sadness is always inevitable, why do you have to fall in love" "because love is always inseparable, why should you care about that little bit of tenderness", and advised her to "know that, it is always inevitable to be sad every time you wake up from a dream", so "there are some things you don't have to ask now, and there are some people you never have to wait for". The upper and lower two paragraphs of lyrics really describe the story of a person whose feelings were hurt and the comfort others gave her.

This song was nominated for the Best Song of the Year at the 2nd Golden Melody Awards in Taiwan in 1990 and won the top ten Chinese Golden Songs of 1985-95 in 1996.
