The Samajwadi Party (SP) has quit the INDIA Alliance in Maharashtra following a controversial remark by a close aide of Uddhav Thackeray on the demolition of the Babri Masjid. Milind Narvekar, a Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, posted a photo of the mosque on its 32nd anniversary, accompanied by a quote from Balasaheb Thackeray expressing pride in the demolition. This led to the SP's exit, despite having two MLAs in the Maharashtra Assembly, who defied the opposition's boycott call and took their oath today.
