More Than an Elden Ring Appetizer: Why Mortal Shell is My New Favorite Soulslike Game

Описание к видео More Than an Elden Ring Appetizer: Why Mortal Shell is My New Favorite Soulslike Game

I'm typically pretty skeptical and curmudgeonly when it comes to so-called soulslikes—games that are inspired by From Software's Soulsborne titles, primarily Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. But I finally decided to play Cold Symmetry's Mortal Shell, and I'm genuinely glad I did! At best, I expected it to be little more than an Elden Ring appetizer, but I actually found the game to be a fun and worthwhile experience that stands on its own. Mortal Shell's immersive art direction and addictive combat loop have continued to keep me engaged during multiple playthroughs, including shell-less speedruns and the new Virtuous Cycle DLC. Topics in this video include: shells, music, weapons, aesthetics, boss battles, enemy types, combat mechanics, and more.
