Alarm für Cobra 11: Burning Wheels / Crash Time II by Synetic, 2008.

This is actually Synetic's third Alarm für Cobra 11/Crash Time game (the first was called Alarm für Cobra 11: Nitro). It brings in an updated graphics engine with improved lighting, an HDR style effect, with copious amounts of motion blur and bloom!

The F1 car in this game is different to the one in the previous Crash Time game, with a new black colour scheme.

As the game only has an Autobahn and City location (based on a German city like Cologne), so the locations listed below were just what I was aiming for.

1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 The computer controlled cars seem quite "sticky" and it's easy to get connected up with them, which happens a few times as I race along here, nearly ending in disaster a few times!

2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:34 Here you can really appreciate the new hyper-bright lighting effects. It feels like the sunniest day ever (there's no rain!).

3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:52 Not quite a tunnel, but close enough! Note how the interface enlarges when there's an ideal speed to clear a jump, etc!

4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:11 Again, there's no rain in this game, it's high mega-summer!

5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:32 There's no pitstops, so I park up in a garage for a while. This is one of those games where the rear rain light becomes a brake light, unlike real life!

6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:44 The damage model on this game is limited to missing wheels, wobbling parts, scrape/scratch effects and twisted bodywork. But the car is still driveable! It's very much an arcade affair, with a quick reset button to repair any damage.
