Everyday they will see Methuselah, they will even call him that name - "it will happen when you die", yet they never believed.
In their heart they doubted God, in their mouth they argued it will not happen.

Yet it does not alter God's word.
The Lord endured for over a thousand years before the flood came.
He endured the wickedness he saw on the earth.
He endured the rebellion of the sons of Cain.
He endured the wickedness of the nephilims just for the souls of men not to perish.
They exhausted all his patience and longsuffering towards them.
Then the flood came.
He can only delay the day of recompense, but cannot cancel that appointment.
He must preserve His creation.
The Holy Ghost speaking of His longsuffering said through the apostle Peter:
"Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
