It started as just another adventure—one more ruin to map, one more ancient secret to uncover. But when we stepped through the shimmering archway, the world didn't just change; it moved. We emerged onto Portal Island, a floating sanctuary dominated by a magnificently beautiful transport gate guarded by 2 ancient sentries. We were immediately stranded; behind us, the portal’s control panel—an ancient, high-tech "Myst-ic" array of stone and metal—coughed a plume of black smoke and died in a shower of sparks.

With the machine broken, we turned our eyes to the water to survive. We constructed a massive aqueduct built directly into the side of a waterfall, routing fresh water into a canal that cuts through the center of our new village. The current spills over a waterwheel, powering the mill in one of our two main cottages, grinding grain for bread and beans for our essential morning coffee. The Main Island became our home, featuring a cozy living quarters with a fireplace and a small beach with recliners where we watch the water flow from the wheel into the central pond.

From there, the water—and our life—cascades outward. The overflow feeds the Fishing Hole, where we harvest protein, and spills gently onto Zen Island, a retreat for meditation where one can become one with the environment. Nearby, the Greenhouse Island hosts our farmer and the garden essential for our supplies.

But we didn't just build for survival; we built for peace. A path from the village center leads deep down into the earth to a serene Grotto, while a secret underwater entrance now obscures the only way in or out of the town, keeping our haven safe.

As the sun sets, The Lost Isles truly come alive. High above, the Party Island floats over us all, featuring a see-through infinity pool and a live band we met during one of our material gathering campaigns. For quieter evenings, we retreat to the Gazebo Island, lounging under "moon" ceiling tiles surrounded by a wall of water columns. At night, the entire place is magnificent, lit by the soft lantern light of the boardwalks and the mysterious, beautiful glow of the broken portal—a reminder that even though we are stranded, we are exactly where we need to be.
