ALL THE PINS!!! | Shawnee Mission Park Disc Golf Course Flythrough

Shawnee Mission Park includes a 120-acre lake with swimming beach and marina, 11 shelters, numerous picnic areas, nature trails, play areas, an archery range, a 44-acre dog off-leash area, mountain biking and hiking trails, equestrian trails, is home to the Theatre in the Park, but most importantly since 2007 has hosted an 18-hole disc golf course. 

Carved into a section of the 1,655 acre park is a par 54 to par 62 park-style course that ranges from 5307 feet to 8364 feet in total distance. Designed by Dirk Hacker and Jack Lowe, this multiple pin position layout features slightly wooded front 8 and prairie-esque 9-18. Veteran baskets pepper the rolling hill landscape with a generously spaced three practice baskets situated next to an equally generous parking lot. Although no par 5 fairways, SMP does have some lengthier par 4 offerings and late gaps to test power throwers accuracy. Wind definitely plays a factor once exiting the tree line on 9's tee box and continues to test until basket 17. Cart friendly with bathrooms near tee 1 and 9, this course has all the amenities for a good round of disc golf.
