POWERS THREE SWALLOW | Irish Whiskey Review

The Powers Three Swallow is an Irish single pot still whiskey that is supposedly a modern recreation of a classic Irish whiskey recipe.

The whiskey gets its name from the traditional sips of whiskey that the coachmen would drink to warm themselves up on a cold evening.

By using 2nd and 3rd fill bourbon barrels and some sherry barrels, Powers created a really rounded out whiskey that smoothly moves between vanilla, caramel, spicy and fruity notes without being overpowering in any one direction.

It's also a very budget friendly whiskey without being a bottom shelf bottle! Coming in at about two thirds the price of more up-market pot still whiskeys while still delivering an enjoyable dram, this is definitely a bottle that you won't feel guilty enjoying!
