Trucker Pay Rises By 10% Nationwide?!?

According to an article in the KRCRTV, truck driver salaries are on the rise nationwide and in the Northstate, with median annual pay reaching over $76,000 last year, marking a 10% increase over two years, according to the American Trucking Associations. In Redding, Jiffy's Truck School offers a fast-track certification program, and its owner Jeff Hostetter noted a 30% pay increase for local drivers since 2020, with hourly wages now around $29-$30. Over-the-road salaries have risen by 50% in the last four years. Despite the increase in pay, there is still a shortage of drivers, with over 35 jobs currently available. Angelle Brown, a local, recently completed the certification program, inspired by her father's trucking career.
