MSI Z97 XPOWER AC Motherboard Overview + Benchmarks

The MSI Z97 XPOWER AC offers the most features possible in a package specifically targeted at users who need the ultimate platform for overclocking. The E-ATX form factor of the XPOWER AC motherboard allows plenty of room for the features to be spread out across the PCB.

The styling take the shape of a matching yellow and black theme with an X heatsink on the chipset to match with the Lightning series GPUs that MSI offers. A total of five PCIe x16 slots are present with the ability to handle 4-way SLI or CrossFire setups, in addition there are two x1 slots for peripherals. The XPOWER has four DDR3 memory slots that support up to 32GB of memory up to the overclocked speed of DDR3 3300. One of the additions to the Z97 chipset is the M.2 compatibility, the XPOWER has an M.2 slot on board, to coincide with the ten SATAIII ports for flexible storage. There are plenty of I/O ports present as well that include up to 12 USB 3.0 ports, 6 USB 2.0, 6 audio jacks, Optical SPDIF, HDMI, and DisplayPort. Let's not forget the Military Class 4 components for durability, ESD, EMI, High Temp, Humidity, and Circuit protections that MSI uses. On top of the built in water cooling for the VRM heatsink, and full accessory kit.
