What is Median Stacking? Median stacking is the process of taking multiple photos of the night sky from the single tripod position, alining them in Photoshop and then using the Median Blend mode to essentially calculate the average tonality of each pixel. Because noise is random the median stacking method is a very effective way of reducing high ISO noise in an Astro image.
