The four-pole electric motor model was presented soon after second world war by German toy factory Märklin. The company is well known it’s model trains but Märklin made also metal construction kits called Märklin Metallbaukasten. Märklin and Meccano started 1914 a cooperation, but the first world war ruined the collaboration. Both metal construction kits are mainly compatible.

When I followed an old instruction manual, the motor didn’t work. Fortunately, I found a video of mTbK-mechanik Youtube channel about this kind of motor. After making a couple of changes the motor started running. So, credits to mTbK-mechanik -channel!
