The Starlink Mini works great from inside the Skylight of a Leisure Travel Vans (LTV). It needs a minimum of 20vdc power supply. So you can use a 24vdc or 36vdc step up converter to increase an LTV 12vdc power to the Starlink Mini necessary voltage. I helped friends with a 2021 Unity add a 5.5mm x 2.1mm power outlet with 18 awg wire for the Skylight install of their Starlink Mini. Then they use an 18" extention cord to power the Mini in the Skylight from the outlet. They are using my simple RV tension bar method to mount their Mini in the Skylight. We found out the sun thru the Skylight can cause the Mini to overheat so adding 2 of these foam pads to block the sun to the Mini works great, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XVYHJDV. The lighter the color foam the better to reflect the heat. The Starlink Mini doesn't see the foam or Velcro Strap as an obstruction.

You can use 16 or 18 awg wire. I used 16 awg with a 5a fused wire spliced into the LTV 16 awg wire that supplied power to the Water pump relay (LTV fuse box circuit rated at 10a) for the input power to a 24 or 36vdc step up converter. The Starlink Mini uses about 1.5a steady state. There are a variety of circuit power feeds in the over door panel, so find one that is easy to locate like I did. Add the voltage booster, then test the operation of the LTV items on the circuit and the Starlink Mini together to make sure everything works fine before you consider your installation final. BTW, LTV uniquely numbers every wire and they are identified on the LTV wiring diagrams. The Skylight does need lined with Foam Pad blocks, link below, to reduce the heat so the Mini doesn't overheat.

They are using a 28" RV refrigerator tension rod and a double tension rod for their mount of the Starlink Mini, they had them on hand, but you can just use 2 single ones. That's what I use for my Starlink Mini Skylight mount. If you're interested in a cushion for the rods you can use 1/2" foam pipe insulation from HomeDepot or Lowe's. Then use a 24" Velcro Strap to secure the Mini to the tension bars. The new 24vdc or 36vdc power supply runs the Mini great from the LTV Skylight!
