Rener Gracie (born 10 November 1983) is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) black belt[a] instructor, coach and entrepreneur.

One of the most recognisable figures in modern Brazilian jiu-jitsu,[2][3][4] Gracie is a well-known and popular coach[5][6][7] who has helped develop some top UFC competitors, such as Ronda Rousey, Brian Ortega, Brendan Schaub, Javier Vazquez and Lyoto Machida as well as former wrestler CM Punk and pro boxer Ryan Garcia. Additionally, he has also trained celebrities including Vince Vaughn and Travis Barker.

As co-owner and head instructor at the Gracie University of jiu-jitsu headquartered in Torrance, California Gracie is known for his initiatives training Police officers in jiu-jitsu based self-defence and his advocacy calling for a nationwide police reform. His Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) curriculum is the first to be recognized in California as approved for law enforcement.

An inventor and entrepreneur, Gracie founded Quikflip, a garment converting into a backpack, which was featured on ABC's Shark Tank and named as one of Time Magazine 2019 best inventions.

Cássio Werneck (born 17 February 1974)[1] is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor, instructor and owner of Cassio Werneck Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu located in Sacramento, California.[2]

Early Years
Werneck began training in martial arts at 11 years old, practicing Capoeira for 4 years. He switched to grappling in 1991, moving to a Judo club where he was coached by sensei Miura. Cassio was exposed to more of the self-defence aspect of jiu-jitsu through Professor Sardella, a member of the Federal Police. In 1993, Werneck's focus turned to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.[3]

Teaching career
Athletes such as Randy Couture, Frank Mir, Dan Henderson and Urijah Faber have also trained under Cassio at his Sacramento location.[3]

Cassio has conducted seminars in the Middle East as well as in the U.S. and Brazil.[4]
