Spanning 10 percentage of Dubai’s total area is the Al Marmoom Reserve project, the largest unfenced nature reserve in the UAE. It hosts one of the largest populations of Arabian oryx in Dubai and the highest concentration of large flamingos in the UAE. Enjoying over 40 hectares of shrub and fertile land, the desert sanctuary is home to over158 species of migratory birds, 204 species of native birds, many other endangered species and over 10sqkm of lakes, encompassing the Al Qudra Lakes. Additionally, a variety of reptile species can also be found across Al Marmoom’s different habitats.

ദുബായുടെ മൊത്തം വിസ്തൃതിയുടെ 10 ശതമാനവും വ്യാപിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്ന അൽ മർമൂം റിസർവ് പദ്ധതിയാണ് യുഎഇയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വേലിയില്ലാത്ത പ്രകൃതി സംരക്ഷണ കേന്ദ്രം. ദുബായിലെ അറേബ്യൻ ഓറിക്‌സിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ജനസംഖ്യയും യുഎഇയിലെ വലിയ അരയന്നങ്ങളുടെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയർന്ന സാന്ദ്രതയും ഇവിടെയുണ്ട്. 40 ഹെക്ടറിലധികം കുറ്റിച്ചെടികളും ഫലഭൂയിഷ്ഠമായ ഭൂമിയും ആസ്വദിക്കുന്ന ഈ മരുഭൂമി സങ്കേതത്തിൽ 158 ഇനം ദേശാടന പക്ഷികൾ, 204 ഇനം തദ്ദേശീയ പക്ഷികൾ, വംശനാശഭീഷണി നേരിടുന്ന മറ്റ് നിരവധി ജീവികൾ, 10 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്ററിലധികം തടാകങ്ങൾ, അൽ ഖുദ്ര തടാകങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയുണ്ട്. കൂടാതെ, അൽ മർമൂമിന്റെ വ്യത്യസ്‌ത ആവാസവ്യവസ്ഥയിലുടനീളം വൈവിധ്യമാർന്ന ഇഴജന്തുക്കളെയും കാണാം.
