Making a Leather Dopp Kit (Shaving Kit)

In this video we make a Dopp Kit (Shaving Kit) out of leather using the Maker's Leather Supply template. This shave kit is fun to make and though it looks intimidating, it is fairly easy to make too! These make awesome gifts or items to sell because dudes are usually hard to shop for, but almost all of them have a shaving kit (even those of us that don't shave)

Materials used for this project: about 2.5 sf of pliable leather (4-6 oz works best) and a few strips of more rigid leather such as Veg Tan or English Bridle (4-5oz). We also used a 17" Jacket Zipper

In this video we used shrunken bull hide and Tan English Bridle. We also lined the inside with bandana print fabric found at almost any fabric store.


Tools used: Knife, cutting surface, double sided tape, 3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive, Thread, needles, and a sewing Awl. AND THE MAKER'S LEATHER SUPPLY TEMPLATE PATTERN (not NEEDED but it makes the job easier and more consistent).
