Murder Mubarak Movie Review by Sucharita Tyagi - Despite weaving together this tapestry of eccentric characters and their fun little individual plotline. Murder Mubarak ultimately falls short of putting together a cohesive narrative. The narrator constantly shifts from ACP Singh to Bambi “Vidhwa” Todi, played by Sara Ali Khan. Both these characters seem to be running parallel investigations and as such the screenplay doesn’t allow the viewer to become the sleuth for too long, switching too much, too rapidly. Everything feels like a buildup, and little of it builds up to much.

Murder Mubarak is the most fun when its poking fun as the club members. Ranvijay’s non stop boasts highlight theme of duplicity that runs throughout the film, Sanjay Kapoor clearly having a blast, if doing another version of the kind of character you’ve seen him play so much lately. Also having fun is Tisca Chopra, her character only concerned about reducing body size, and keeping up pretenses. Dimple Kapadia is an artists with incredible clothes and terrible sculptures, fully aware of her lack of talent. Karishma Kapoor is Shehnaz, an actor, single mother, talk of the town, and club president candidate.
