The House of Representatives’ committee on ethics and privileges concluded its preliminary hearing on the case filed against Davao del Norte 1st District Representative Pantaleon Alvarez.

The investigation will continue next week.

COOP NATCCO Representative Felimon Espares, who chairs the committee, said the case will focus on the alleged “disorderly behavior” of Alvarez, particularly his statements made during a prayer rally in April calling on the military and police force to withdraw support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The panel also decided to dismiss the complaint on his “habitual absences” due to the lack of evidence.
