How to play "Church Street Blues" - Tony Rice - Guitar Lesson with Tab

Описание к видео How to play "Church Street Blues" - Tony Rice - Guitar Lesson with Tab

Here is how i play the Tony Rice version of "Church Street Blues" (Written by Norman Blake). A mithic song that really motivated me to start flatpicking!!

In that video, i show how i play 2 versions. The first is a mix of the live and album versions: I play the album version twice, on which I've replaced few bars with those from the live version that i love. The second is the album version.

Important note about picking direction :
For that song, the picking direction i use is different from Tony Rice's and all guitarists i saw on the web (by the way, none of us use exactly the same picking direction for that song). My advice : I think you should look at several videos or transcriptions of that song and choose the picking direction that works best for you. Also, if it can help, i have tried to catch the picking direction used by Chris Eldrige in a recent video (    • Chris Eldridge plays Church Street Blues   ), where he plays a version very close to my "mix" version, and i put it in a tab you can download with a link below.

For the song chords, I show my personnel interpretation, easier than Tony Rice's. I think it can be a good start to sing with.

Hope you will enjoy !!
