The ‘Separate Administration’ demand by the Kuki community is nearly as old as the conflict in Manipur. It is also one of the many topics that have created a deep divide between the Meiteis and the Kukis.

Even before the conflict, it did not take elaborate research to understand that even though Manipur was hardly a prosperous and developed story, the Imphal Valley was more developed than the Hill regions. But beyond a term, what does one mean by separate administration?
