Title Text : The Importance of being Devoted to Parents in an Islamic Perspective

Thesis :
As a Muslim, I believe that one of the most important tenets of our faith is the importance of filial piety. In Islam, the status of parents is very high and their rights are considered the most important of all. Every child is commanded to be filial, obedient, respectful, and to meet the needs of his parents. However, these days the importance of parents is often overlooked or underestimated. In fact, many societies today often promote individualism and put self-interest first.

Argument :
Why should we be filial to parents? First, parents are children's first teachers and play an important role in shaping their character and moral values. Parents have a great influence on the development of children in shaping their future. By teaching children important life skills such as empathy, responsibility, and discipline. We as children are also taught education both academically and religiously since childhood by our parents.
Secondly, parents are also people who have contributed to us. Parents have taken care of us from the time we are in the womb until we grow up. In Islam, children are taught to take care of their parents in their old age, just as their parents took care of them when they were young. Unfortunately, in today's society, many elderly parents are left alone and abandoned.
Third, in Islam, parents have a place of honor. The importance of parents in Islam is highlighted by the fact that there are many verses in the Qur'an and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that emphasize the importance of serving and respecting parents. In Islam too, the relationship between parent and child is considered a sacred bond that deserves full attention. However, despite the teachings of Islam, today's modern world can have a negative impact on the relationship between parents and children.

Recommendations :
That's my recomendation about
By being devoted to our parents, we as Muslims should carry out religious commandments. Filial piety to parents is also a form of our gratitude for the services of the sacrifices that have been given to us. Therefore, it is very important that we are filial to parents. There is a lot of good that we get when we are devoted to our parents. As given long life by Allah, getting God's blessings gets happiness and glory in life on earth as well as in the hereafter. Therefore, we as Muslims are obliged to respect, be filial, and obey our parents, so that one day we can become someone who also obeys the commands of Allah swt.
