This session shared conclusions from a 10-week summer fellowship in dental public health where four student fellows conducted research and developed advocacy in oral health for special populations. Special populations included veterans, individuals living in rural communities, and LGBTQ+ people. This fellowship provided students with exposure to expert speakers and engagement in in-depth discussions on research, advocacy and how to communicate effectively on these topics. Throughout the fellowship, the students conducted independent research and created advocacy programs shared in this webinar.
