The beautiful Langbathsee Mountain Lake in Austria is part of the Salzkammergut region, nestled in the heart of the northern Alps. In fact, there are two Langbathsee lakes: Vorderer Langbathsee and Hinterer Langbathsee. The former is reachable on a 10-minute car drive up from Ebensee, and the latter can be walked in less than 45 minutes starting from the parking lot at Vorderer Langbathsee.

Beautiful nature and a fantastic mountain panorama are the reward for what I would rate one of the best hikes in the mountain region Salzkammergut. This region is full of beautiful mountain lakes, but this lake is one of the highlights of Austria in my opinion.
