A very common and understandable issue is 'doing that' with that hand and 'doing this' with this hand. The problem is not as difficult to overcome as you may initially believe. These exercises will help you with that.

By removing the conscious desire to look at and control each movement, the fingers will be more at liberty to do what the mind and they already know how to do. It may take a little dissection and effort to master each part independently but once that is achieved, playing them together is no longer difficult.

1. Each hand playing a different major scale
2. X notes in the RH for every 1 in the LH (same/different major scale)
3. Chords but with ideas from 1 and 2 above.

Do all exercises with closed eyes.

These ideas are not for speed or dexterity but to introduce you to the experience of 'becoming a spectator to your hands'; the skills acquired from doing these exercises can then be applied, not the mention the subconscious learning from repetition, to whatever you may be working on.
