We're reviewing the Opus Holiday Jazz fountain pen with a fine nib. With a consistent and smooth writing experience, this nib passes the writing test for us. We recommend that all pen users select extra fine and fine nibs carefully because certain brands or pens can have scratchy writing experiences with finer nibs. We were happy that the Holiday Jazz EF nib was not scratchy (on fountain pen-friendly paper OR daily use paper).
✨ FILLING SYSTEM ✨
Another special aspect of this Opus 88 fountain pen is the filling system; it's an eyedropper pen. (To fill an eyedropper fountain pen, you manually drop ink into the barrel using an eyedropper, as seen in the video). Opus 88 eyedropper fountain pens also incorporate a valve into their eyedropper design that prevents the pen from spilling ink in changing temperatures, pressures, and more. Also, the pen holds a large amount of ink, making it great as a daily-use pen. We enjoy these mechanisms of the pen a little extra because it brings a science-y feel to the pen! 😉
