How to Build Free Open Source Apps | Tutorial ft. NetGuard Firewall & Android Studio

In this beginner's guide, we're going to be building and installing a free and open source app on our Android phone.

This tutorial will cover installing Android Studio, downloading the source code of apps from GitHub, building the source code - side stepping common errors, testing it out on an emulator before finally side loading it onto our Android phone.

The app we'll be installing today is a free and open source firewall app, in case you don't know - giving an app the secure position to be the gatekeeper of all your internet traffic is a privilege. For firewalls it's particularly recommended to only install open source apps which you can manually verify it isn't doing anything dodgy inside. Which is why this app is the perfect candidate for this tutorial - as it's something that's genuinely needed for regular Android users to learn. However, this tutorial should work with most apps found on GitHub including lots of free games.
