M.C. Escher: Amazing Images

Описание к видео M.C. Escher: Amazing Images

Combining a look at the cultural history of the Netherlands with astonishing artwork, "M. C. Escher: Amazing Images" presents a unique view of one of the twentieth century's most unusual artists. The NAF New England Chapter invites you to join us for this webinar with presenter Jeffrey Price.

M. C. Escher's artwork continues to be relevant a century after he began printmaking because his pictures are not only entertaining and imaginative but also illustrate our search for order in a seemingly chaotic world. While claiming little understanding of higher mathematics and scientific thinking, his prints, his "little games" as he called them, reveal the vast gaps between the immutable laws that govern all creation and the pictures we make of what we see around us.

By understanding Escher's inspirations and the beauty in his art we gain a better understanding of how our consciousness enables us to make sense of a world that all-too-often seems chaotic and fragmented.
