Why write protect the chip ?
Because the eeprom will be restored to original state after a few days or several engine starts.
Also you can remove the plug from immo box that is located next to the ignition but you will no longer communicate with the engine ECU.

I did this test to prove that I have a immo issue and that's why car is not starting.
