Karla Cornejo Villavicencio is the author of the National Book Award finalist The Undocumented Americans. Her work, which focuses on race, culture, and immigration, has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Vogue, Elle, n+1, The New Inquiry, Interview, and on NPR.

Villavicencio is in conversation with Jesús Rodríguez, a political features writer at The Washington Post. Previously he was a staff writer at Politico Magazine, and his writing on being undocumented has appeared in The Atlantic and The Nation. Originally from Maracaibo, Venezuela, he lives in Washington, D.C.
