The number one Japan travel tip is to buy a Pasmo or Suica IC card once you arrive in Tokyo. These cards let you use the train and buy food at convenience stores. This is the most essential Tokyo tip and should be the first thing you do once you arrive in Narita airport. These cards act like a debit card, you charge the IC card which then lets you make purchases at convenience stores and allows you to buy train and bus tickets. The pasmo and suica cards make traveling to Japan much easier and convenient.

With the Pasmo card you don’t have to worry about buying individual train or bus tickets to your desire destination, this makes things easier.
