[PREFABRICATED VERTICAL DRAINS (PVD)] This video shows history of our challenges which make vertical-drain-method to be more eco-friendly and development of biodegradable drain materials (PVD and PHD) which have new potential.

The infrastructure which makes our life to be rich. Soft soil improvement is essential for infrastructure development. In order to improve a large area which composed by soft soil, vertical-drain-method is used commonly.

However, vertical-drain-method requires plenty of natural sand and soil. Therefore, there were risks to loss natural resources and to be a bad influence on environment.
We, based on our desire to save nature from infrastructure development, developed “Geodrain method” which doesn’t require any natural sand and “Geodrain SPD method” which doesn’t require soil for preloading.

In “Geodrain method”, CN Drain, a kind of Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD), can substitute sand drain pile and SB Drain, Prefabricated Horizontal Drain (PHD), can substitute sand blanket. CN Drain and SB Drain can save usage of sand completely usage in vertical drain method.
In “Geodrain SPD method” can save usage of plenty amount of soil using special vacuum unit which can make pressure as substitute to preloading embankment.

One more problem to be solved was remained. Plastics which used for PVD and PHD potentially to be marine plastics and micro plastics which result in serious environmental pollution in future. After our long challenge, we successfully developed PVD and PHD composed by biodegradable plastics which will degrade into carbon dioxide and water in year 2005.

We, Chikami Miltec Inc., will keep to developing new eco-friendly technologies which can commit infrastructure development with saving the nature.
