Alloimmunization in Hindi | Pregnancy in Rh negative mother | Nursing Lecture

Alloimmunization or isoimmunization means the production of immune antibodies against the foreign red cell antigen of the same species.

Rh incompatibility arises when the mother is Rh negative & she carries Rh positive baby.

Once the antigen enters maternal circulation first time in primary immune response IgM antibodies are formed, that is bigger to cross the placenta barrier, so the first pregnancy spares, but in subsequent pregnancy the mother's immune response mounts and forms IgG antibodies that are smaller & easily crosses the placenta barrier, thereby the incompatibility happens.
