Oriki Olukoyi B | Know Your Oriki

Ìran Olúkòyí live an unsettled life because of their frequent expeditions. According to one of the poems, they can make a home of grasslands, thickforests, high hills, metropoles, and the settled countryside with utmost ease. They owe their livelihood to the pleasures of the king who orders them to go to wars, and this relationship is not always cordial (Adeleke Adeeko).

We may ask what is it in lineage Oríkì that inspires its addressee. It seems that thing is the history, the history of ancient times that fills the addressee with pride that great blood flows in him; that he is related to accomplished heroes; a pride that makes the addressee himself feel very important (Adeleke Adeeko).
