Uploader Note: New Post Due to the release of the SBD. This through the years has been one of my consistently most listened to shows due to the fact that I lived outside of Pittsburgh and tend to call it the old home place. It was also one of the few audience recordings I possessed that had an excellent sound quality. I find it to be an underrated, unmentioned relic on the road to the Went - where we all know a unified ego-loss occurred 2nd night 2nd set and band and audience were one, culminating with the only glow stick war that worked during Hood. As I have listened to this Gumbo hundreds of times in the past 15 years, this official release is a wish come true.

This show's anniversary marks even more significance as my father's passing coincides with it now, and he was throughout his life a dedicated Steelers fan, who was no stranger to Phish thanks to my obsession. I brought him to the epic Worcester '98 show, and he found out Meat was his favorite Phish tune. :) He would say, "It's amazing four guys can make that much sound." Thanks, Dad. I would not have been able to enjoy Phish as much as I do without you.

Buy some Phish gear so I feel less guilty uploading an official release:
Starlake '98 DVD seems like a relevant choice.

02. of Mr. Miner's Five Flavors of Gumbo:
"A personal favorite, this Gumbo has all the dialed in funk of the 7.29 version, but then transcends it, adding layers of melody and harmony on top of the heavy grooves. Known among many fans for its "Frankin's Tower"-esque jam towards the last third of the song, whether intentionally or coincidentally, the band hints strongly at the Dead classic within the context of their own Phish funk. This version includes some Phish-crack funk grooves at the onset of the jam, illustrating their musical progression over the summer. This version has a certain flow to it the entire way through. An A+ version all the way, this one is a can't miss." -Mr. Miner
