Geetanjali Shree, author of the award-winning and much translated novel Mai, is known for her inventive language, adventurous style and imaginative leaps. She engages with varied themes, such as Hindu-Muslim relations, terrorist violence, women’s friendships and loves and lives, to weave out unusual stories. Harish Trivedi has published books and articles on Postcolonial Literature and Theory, Translation Studies and Indian/Comparative Literature, and is currently a contributing editor of an international project based in Stockholm for writing a history of World Literature. He has recently edited a book on the medieval bhakti poet Abdur-Rahim Khan-i-Khana. His works include Colonial Transactions: English Literature and India, Post-colonial Translation: Theory and Practice and the Penguin Classics edition of Kim by Rudyard Kipling. He has written on and translated various Hindi, Urdu and Sanskrit writers, including Ashvaghosha, Premchand, Manto and Ajneya. He has edited and contributed two chapters to a book on the bhakti poet Abdur-Rahim Khan-e khana.

Coetzee, Muhammad Yunus and Orhan Pamuk, Man Booker Prize winners Ben Okri, Howard Jacobson, Margaret Atwood, Marlon James, Michael Ondaatje, Paul Beatty and Yan Martel, Pulitzer Prize winners Andrew Sean Greer, Benjamin Moser, Colson Whitehead and Jhumpa Lahiri, Sahitya Akademi winners Gulzar, Javed Akhtar, M.T. Vasudevan Nair as well as the late Girish Karnad, Mahasweta Devi and U.R. Ananthamurthy along with literary luminaries including Amish Tripathi, Chima¬manda Ngozi Adichie, Vikram Chandra and Vikram Seth. An annual event that goes beyond literature, the Festival has also hosted Amartya Sen, Amitabh Bachchan, the late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Oprah Winfrey, Stephen Fry, Thomas Piketty and former president of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai.
The Jaipur Literature Festival is a flagship event of Teamwork Arts, which produces over 33 highly acclaimed performing arts, visual arts and literary festivals across more than 40 cities globally.
